Horse Power ... Changing Lives

Greatwood provides fulfilling futures for former racehorses and special needs children through their interaction in unique programmes of rehabilitation and education in a secure and caring environment.

Greatwood is a recognised racehorse welfare charity that has influenced the lives of hundreds of ex-racehorses.

Horse Power is an exciting and unique project, where children with special needs learn life skills through interaction with the horses, that for whatever reason,  cannot be rehomed.

Our Patron, Jodie Kidd, explains the work we undertake with rescued racehorses and children with special needs.

I cannot believe the difference Greatwood has made to one of our pupils. Where all other school based support had failed, Greatwood gave her the confidence to have a go and as her self esteem rose she made her first attempts at independent writing and came to school with a smile on her face for the first time ever.

Before and after

Horse Rescue...
The finishing line is only the beginning

We consider ourselves as the safety net for those former racehorses that for whatever reason have fallen on hard times. We never turn away a horse at risk, and believe that every horse has a chance of a safe and secure future in a new home.

For those of you who love horses, as we do, this is not acceptable. If this image makes you feel like helping her and others like her, then please donate now.
