Whether you want to organise a big or small event, this is a great way of supporting us.

• A date for your event. It is always worth checking that there are no other big events on that day in your local area as this may affect the people you want to invite.
• A venue. Be prepared to book well in advance if you are planning something in a local hall or sport centre.
• A Budget. You should have a rough idea of the amount you hope to raise and set your budget accordingly.
• Advertising. Put up posters in local pubs, post offices and noticeboards. If you need help with press releases for your local paper then do contact us.
• Sponsors. Approach local businesses for sponsorship or to donate prizes for a raffle or auction
• Gift Aid. If you are being sponsored for an event, ask your donors to Gift Aid* their donation. This enables us to claim back the tax on their donation, 28p for every £1 donated. (*Gift Aid donations must come from a UK taxpayer). Click for our Donation & Gift aid form or Gift Aid form. 

• Dinner Party. Invite friends and family round for a dinner party and charge them for tickets and hold a small raffle.
• Race night. Hold a racenight in your local pub or hall. Contact us for help or ideas.
• Quiz night. Host your own Who Wants to Be a Millionnaire? Quiz at home or at your local pub. Charge an entrance fee for participants and put up a prize for the winner.
• Sponsored Event. Sky dive for Greatwood or go on a sponsored bike ride. Look at one of the challenges we offer in conjunction with Classic Tours.
• Pot Luck Supper. Ask friends round, everyone brings a dish or wine and puts a donation, set or discretionary, into a fund. A good way of having a fun evening, with some lovely food, at low cost.
• Bring a pound to work day. Simply ask all your colleagues to bring just £1 to work in aid of the charity, then collect together the money and send it to us.
• Office sweepstake. Run a sweepstake on a big race like the Grand National or the Derby.
• Take part in a Sporting Event like a Marathon, Climb or Cycle ride for Greatwood. Consider an Open Challenge arranged by Classic Tours.
